Soccer Game Preview: Oakwood vs. Ross

The Oakwood Lumberjacks will square off against the Ross Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Oakwood is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Batavia a 3-0 shutout. The matchup was close at halftime, but Oakwood turned on the heat in the second half with two goals.

They hit Batavia with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Lily Montgomery, Maddie Darr, and Maya Florendo.

Meanwhile, Chaminade Julienne Catholic kept up with Ross until halftime on Thursday, but afterwards: not so much. The Rams put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 3-0 win. Ross' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matches.

Ross' victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-2-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those four contests. As for Oakwood, their victory bumped their record up to 17-2-1.
