Softball Recap: Pajaro Valley Takes a Loss

Pajaro Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Marina Mariners, falling 20-8. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Grizzlies of the 21-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Virginia Escobar and Nate Carbajal did some serious damage despite the final result: Escobar scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Carbajal scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Eliana Carbajal was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Pajaro Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Marina, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pajaro Valley will host Anzar at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Marina, they will look to defend their home field on the 11th against Gonzales at 4:00 p.m.
