Southeast Bulloch has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the New Hampstead Phoenix at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Southeast Bulloch posted their biggest win yet this season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Wayne County 77-46 at home. Given Southeast Bulloch's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 177th, while Wayne County is ranked 421st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, New Hampstead entered their tilt with Benedictine with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, New Hampstead made off with a 59-58 win over Benedictine.
Southeast Bulloch's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-7. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points per game. As for New Hampstead, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.
Southeast Bulloch might still be hurting after the 67-47 defeat they got from New Hampstead when the teams last played on January 5th. Can Southeast Bulloch avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
