Baseball Recap: Lee Comes Up Short

Harlan hit Lee with a four-run third inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Generals fell just short of the Green Dragons by a score of 8-7. The Generals' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Konner Early and Clay Robbins stepped up to the plate in a big way. Early got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Robbins went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Lee is 5-1 when Early posts two or more stolen bases, but 2-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Cade Troutman, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Lee's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Harlan, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season.

Lee will head out to square off against Ridgeview at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Harlan, they will welcome Barbourville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
