Recap: Hardaway Hawks vs. Trinity Christian Crusaders
The Hardaway Hawks's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They came out on top against Trinity Christian by a score of 79-68. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Hardaway can attribute much of their success to Mekhi Benton, who scored 22 points. Corey Brown was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Trinity Christian's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Will George, who scored 22 points along with 6 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Anthony Frank-Woji, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 17 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Trinity Christian were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hardaway only pulled down ten.
The win got Hardaway back to even at 3-3. As for Trinity Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Hardaway will head out on the road to face off against Columbus at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Columbus is ranked 175th, while Hardaway is ranked 197th). As for Trinity Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Stratford Academy at 7:30 p.m.
