Oasis Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Kathleen 33-11 on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Lions as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Amber Whittington was a standout: she got on base in five of her six plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Ladela Bradberry was another key player, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.
Oasis Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.2 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 9.2.
Meanwhile, Master's Academy got the win against Port St. Lucie on Monday by a conclusive 22-7. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by ten runs or more this season.
Master's Academy let Gia Gasbarro and Katelyn Hawkins run wild. Gasbarro scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Hawkins got on base in three of her four plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Hawkins a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ada Boesch, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Master's Academy's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Oasis Christian, their win bumped their record up to 6-11.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Oasis Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Master's Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
