Basketball Game Preview: Cuba Rams vs. Bosque Bobcats

Cuba has gone 9-1 against Bosque recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Cuba Rams will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bosque Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. Bosque took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Cuba, who comes in off a win.

Cuba is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They really took it to Cottonwood Classical Prep for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-34 win. The Rams pushed the score to 46-26 by the end of the third, a deficit the Coyotes had little chance of recovering from.

Cuba relied on the efforts of Denale Sandoval, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 16 rebounds, and Latishia Nez, who shot 4-for-7 from deep and almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave Nez a new career-high in points. Cara Toledo was another key player, putting up 14 points and four steals.

Cuba smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cottonwood Classical Prep only pulled down 16 offensive rebounds.

Meanwhile, Bosque played a tough game on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Laguna Acoma 62-21. The Bobcats have struggled against the Hawks recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Cuba's victory bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Bosque, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-12.

Everything came up roses for Cuba against Bosque in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 66-37 win. Does Cuba have another victory up their sleeve, or will Bosque turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
