Recap: Thayer Academy Tigers vs. Belmont Hill Sextants
The Thayer Academy Tigers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 34-12 walloping at the hands of Belmont Hill. Thayer Academy lost against Belmont Hill in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 23-22 score last time.
Despite the loss, Thayer Academy still got an impressive performance from Arnaud Dugas, who threw for 194 yards and a touchdown.
Belmont Hill found their leader in underclassman Marcus Griffin, who rushed for 141 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries. Another player making a difference was R?is Little, who rushed for 67 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.
Thayer Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Belmont Hill, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Thayer Academy will take on Governor's Academy at 1:00 p.m. on October 28th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Massachusetts (Governor's Academy is ranked 35th, while Thayer Academy is ranked 37th). As for Belmont Hill, they will look to defend their home field on October 28th against Buckingham Browne & Nichols at 2:00 p.m. Buckingham Browne & Nichols knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Belmont Hill likes a good challenge.
