Softball Recap: Argonaut Beats Amador for Their Third Straight Win

Argonaut extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 9-3 in the process. Everything went their way against the Amador Buffaloes as they made off with a 7-1 victory. Considering the Mustangs have won five games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Hailey Dewald spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Bri Bowers, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Baker, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.

As for Amador, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-6-1. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Amador's side, they also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Jessica Mittelstadt gave up five earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Amador saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sydney Faria, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Argonaut has already played their next match, an 11-0 win against El Dorado on the 9th. As for Amador, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-2 victory against Bradshaw Christian on the 10th.
