Basketball Recap: Mason Mast's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Churubusco over Fairfield

Churubusco was the 43-38 winner over Fairfield when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Churubusco Eagles took a 43-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fairfield Falcons. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Churubusco lost on Friday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Mason Mast, who shot 45% from the field en route to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Weston Ott, who posted seven points.

Churubusco's loss dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Fairfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.

Churubusco has already played their next match, a 61-43 win against Whitko on the 26th. As for Fairfield, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-34 defeat against Northridge on the 25th.
