It was a long way to travel to gain a little redemption, but the
Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, Nev.) High School football team will tell you the 2,500-mile trip was well worth it.
Besides, the school's contract required them to travel.

Bergen Catholic (1-2) defeated
Gorman 42-35 in Las Vegas last season.
The second touchdown completed a 73-yard drive keyed by a horsecollar penalty, a third-down completion by Cunningham and a 25-yard run by the son of the former NFL great by the same name.

Said Bergen coach Nunzio Campanile: "We had chances today, we gave them away. Now we have to come back and get a ‘W.' "
Mike Aniello gave Bergen a 7-0 lead in the first quarter on a 2-yard pass from
Colin McGovern. Jones tied it up at 7 with a 13-yard TD catch from Cunningham.
After a
Travis Feather field goal gave Bergen a 10-7 lead,
Kenyan Coker's 1-yard run gave Gorman a 13-10 lead in the third quarter.
Corey Russo put Bergen back on top early in the fourth quarter on a 7-yard run, before Cunningham's heroics.
After a tough opening-night loss to the nation's No. 18 team Mountain Pointe 28-21, Gorman came back with three tough wins over Southern California school's before Saturday's victory.
Now the Gaels get the No. 1 team in the land,
Booker T. Washington (Miami, Fla.) at home Oct. 4.
