Soccer Recap: Tuesday's Loss Ends Central's Winning Streak

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Central can now relate to. They fell just short of the Centennial Eagles by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The Cobras were red-hot offensively headed into the matchup (they scored no less than four goals in the three contests prior) but the Eagles' defense proved too tough.

Central's goal came courtesy of Reinaldo Rocha, who's now up to 21 this season.

With the defeat, Central broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-3. As for Centennial, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-2-1.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Central will square off against Celebration at 7:00 p.m. on February 4th. Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.8 goals per game this season. As for Centennial, they will look to defend their home pitch on February 4th against Freedom at 6:00 p.m. Centennial also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 3.4 goals per game.
