Volleyball Recap: Edison Comes Up Short

If Edison was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Booker T. Washington two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Red Raiders came up short against the Sunset Knights on Monday, falling 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-7, 25-5, 25-6.

Leading Sunset to victory were Alexa Padron and Samantha Montealegre. Padron had seven aces, while Montealegre had five aces and three digs. That's the most aces Montealegre has posted since back in September of 2024.

Edison's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Sunset, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2.

Looking ahead, Edison is taking a road trip to take on Central at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Sunset, they will be taking part in a tournament against Oxbridge Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
