Recap: Lewis Cass Kings vs. Covenant Christian Warriors

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Carroll, the Lewis Cass Kings were happy to have found some success on Saturday. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 47-28 win over Covenant Christian. Given Lewis Cass' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while Covenant Christian is ranked 318th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lewis Cass' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kinsey Mennen, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Aftin Griffin, who scored 14 points along with six steals.

Lewis Cass has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season. As for Covenant Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-11.

Lewis Cass will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Oak Hill at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
