Basketball Recap: Trinity Comes Up Short

If Trinity was riding high fresh off their 56-18 takedown of Fall River on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Trinity Wolves took a 59-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Weed Cougars on Wednesday. The Wolves haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Despite the loss, Trinity still got an impressive performance from Carver Dresselhaus, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 16 boards. What's more, Dresselhaus also posted a 64% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Wesley Dresselhaus, who posted eight points and nine rebounds.

Even though they lost, Trinity smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matches.

Trinity's defeat dropped their record down to 13-13. As for Weed, the victory was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-6.

Trinity has already played their next game, a 48-44 win against Etna on the 14th. As for Weed, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-56 victory against Mt. Shasta on the 14th.
