Softball Recap: Union City Wins Going Away Against Randolph Southern

While Union City put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Randolph Southern. The Indians put the hurt on the Rebels with a sharp 12-0 win. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Rebels recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Scarlett VanMeter was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emma Blankley, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Union City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win got Union City back to even at 8-8. As for Randolph Southern, they are on a 29-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-16.

Coming up, Union City will square off against Cambridge City Lincoln at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Randolph Southern, they will take on Monroe Central at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
