Volleyball Recap: Waltham Falls Despite Big Games from Tharyar San and Paul Shin

If Waltham was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Madison Park RVT/McKinley RVT last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hawks fell just short of the Andover Golden Warriors by a score of 3-2 on Friday. While the Hawks didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Golden Warriors 25-18 in the first set.

While Waltham ultimately came up short, they really made Andover work, particularly in the third set. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-22, 26-24, 23-25, 15-8.

Paul Shin and Tharyar San certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Shin had 25 digs and three assists, while San had 29 assists and 11 digs. Shin is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 12 or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Waltham's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Andover, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Waltham does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Andover, they have already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Natick on the 1st.
