Football Game Preview: Rosemead Panthers vs. South El Monte Eagles

The Rosemead Panthers will face off against the South El Monte Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rosemead's offense hasn't had much luck over their past five games, but Thursday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Rosemead duked it out with El Monte on Friday. The Panthers had to suffer through a 42-7 loss at the hands of the Lions. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by exactly 35 points.

Meanwhile, while it was South El Monte who put the first points on the board on Friday, it was Gabrielino who put up more. South El Monte fell just short of Gabrielino by a score of 30-28. While South El Monte didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating Gabrielino 6-0 in the first quarter.

Rosemead's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for South El Monte, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-3.

Rosemead was dealt a bruising 41-12 loss at the hands of South El Monte in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Panthers, Matthew Medina (who threw for 206 yards and three TDs on only 12 passes) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
