Baseball Recap: Drummond Beats Woodland for Their Fourth Straight Win

Drummond entered their tilt with Woodland on Friday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They never let the Cougars get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 1-0 back in February.

Drummond let Boston Burford and Anthony Fugate run wild. Burford scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2, while Fugate scored a run while going 1-for-1. What's more, Burford posted two RBI, the most he's had since March 3rd. Carter DeHaas was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Drummond was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

Drummond's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Woodland, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Drummond will head out to face off against Glencoe at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Woodland, they will square off against Frontier at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Woodland is facing Frontier at the right time seeing as Frontier is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
