The Rising Star Wildcats will take on the Gorman Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Rising Star had been on a three-game streak of scoring at least 31 points, but Hermleigh put an end to it on Friday. The Wildcats were beaten by the Cardinals 56-8.

Meanwhile, Gorman took a blow against Iredell on Friday, falling 71-36. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Dragons: they've now lost three in a row.

Gorman's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Rising Star, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Rising Star might still be hurting after the 42-20 defeat they got from Gorman in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. Thankfully for the Wildcats, Nathan Rodriguez (who rushed for 200 yards and three scores while picking up 11.1 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
