Softball Recap: Wake Christian Academy Starts Season with Win Against Cary Academy

Wake Christian Academy took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 24-14 margin over the Cary Academy Chargers. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Chargers, too.

Claire Chandler was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four runs, five RBI, and two doubles. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in doubles. Another player making a difference was Lea Morgan, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double.

Chandler wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Wake Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. They got seven more hits than Cary Academy's also-impressive total of 13.

Looking ahead, Wake Christian Academy will square off against Ravenscroft at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cary Academy, they will take on Thales Academy Apex at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
