Northwest is 9-1 against Smithton since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Mustangs will square off against the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Northwest and three for Smithton.

Last Tuesday, Northwest came up short against Otterville and fell 6-1.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Smithton took on Lincoln on Wednesday. The Tigers lost 12-1 to the Cardinals. The game marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Liam Beckett made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-1.

Northwest's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Smithton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Northwest couldn't quite get it done against Smithton in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 11-7. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
