Baseball Recap: Simi Valley Pioneers vs. Chaminade Eagles
Simi Valley is still undefeated this season after their game against Chaminade on Monday, but Chaminade came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Simi Valley Pioneers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Chaminade Eagles. For the Pioneers, this counts as revenge for the 4-3 win the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2022.
Kyle Casey tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits.
At the plate, Danny Pina was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Quentin McGahan was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Simi Valley's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Chaminade, they moved to 3-1 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
