Recap: Mitchell Mustangs vs. Hudson Cobras

Even though the Hudson Cobras scored an imposing 55 points on Tuesday, the Mitchell Mustangs still came out on top. Mitchell blew past Hudson 83-55 at home. That 83-55 margin sets a new team best for Mitchell this season.

Mitchell had a senior duo take command as Ben Unger scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and three steals and Connor Peterson scored 18 points along with five rebounds. The game was Unger's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Emanuel Beacham, who scored 13 points.

Defeat or not, Hudson got some senior leadership from Tejacion Chapman who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 18 rebounds and Calvin Lynch who scored ten points. Chapman scored a full 38.2% of Hudson's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Mitchell is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season. As for Hudson, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 3-5.

Mitchell has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Wiregrass Ranch at 7:30 p.m. on December 21st. Wiregrass Ranch knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matches -- so hopefully Mitchell likes a good challenge. Hudson and Hernando will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 21st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Hernando focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Tuesday.
