Basketball Game Preview: Valley Christian Academy Lions vs. Orcutt Academy Spartans

Having just played yesterday, the Valley Christian Academy Lions will jump right back in to play the Orcutt Academy Spartans at 9:00 a.m. on Friday.

Valley Christian Academy saw some tournament action on Thursday. They took a blow against Lompoc, falling 75-37.

Meanwhile, Orcutt Academy hadn't done well against Nipomo recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Orcutt Academy walked away with a 52-40 victory over Nipomo. While the Spartans didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Orcutt Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Valley Christian Academy, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Things could have been worse for Valley Christian Academy, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 45-28 loss to Orcutt Academy in their previous meeting back in November. Can Valley Christian Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
