Basketball Recap: Wake Forest Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Wake Forest entered their game against Broughton on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Wake Forest Cougars fell to the Broughton Capitals 42-37. The Cougars' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hadley Chang, who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Williams, who put up six points and 15 boards.

Broughton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jane Kern, who earned 13 points along with six assists and five rebounds. What's more, Kern also racked up two blocks, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Jamiyah Allen was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 14 points and nine boards.

Wake Forest's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-5. As for Broughton, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-8 record this season.

Wake Forest has already played their next contest, a 65-35 loss against Wakefield on the 17th. As for Broughton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 59-17 victory against Sanderson on the 17th.
