Softball Recap: Southeast Lauderdale Beats Perry Central for Their Third Straight Victory

Southeast Lauderdale entered their tilt with Perry Central on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Bulldogs 16-3. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 12-7 victory on Thursday.

Allie Carney made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rayden King, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Karly Hollingsworth was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Southeast Lauderdale was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .441. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Perry Central only posted a batting average of .292.

Southeast Lauderdale's record now sits at 10-17. As for Perry Central, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-12-1.
