Softball Recap: Cottage Hill Christian Academy Wins Going Away Against Foley

After only two runs in their last matchup, Cottage Hill Christian Academy made sure to put some runs up on the board against Foley on Monday. The Cottage Hill Christian Academy Warriors put the hurt on the Foley Lions with a sharp 16-3 win. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by nine runs or more this season.

Madison Brown made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Cottage Hill Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Jaycee Mosley, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Makenzie Gartman, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Cottage Hill Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Cottage Hill Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. Foley's loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

Coming up, Cottage Hill Christian Academy will host Robertsdale at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Foley, they are taking a road trip to challenge Escambia at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Foley has given up an average of 13.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
