Volleyball Recap: Carrollton Warriors vs. Indian Valley Braves
After flying high against Steubenville on Monday, Carrollton came back down to earth. The Warriors took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indian Valley Braves on Saturday. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Braves recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.
While Carrollton ultimately came up short, they really made Indian Valley work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 27-25, 21-25, 25-21.
Haley Leslie paced Carrollton's offense, picking up 11 kills. Leslie got some help from Rhemee Beadnell and her 17 assists. Haley Thomas controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
Having lost for the first time this season, Carrollton fell to 2-1. As for Indian Valley, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0.
Coming up, Carrollton will host Marlington at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup will give the Warriors their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Indian Valley, they will venture away from home to challenge Triway at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
