Thornton Fractional North came out on top against Rauner on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run sixth inning. The Meteors won by a run and slipped past the Wildcats 14-13. That's two games straight that the Meteors have won by just one run.

The team relied heavily on Michael Barbosa, who went 3-for-4 with three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Saul Raygoza, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Thornton Fractional North kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Thornton Fractional North and bumps their season record up to 4-12. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Rauner, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Thornton Fractional North will venture away from home to take on Lemont at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Rauner, they will take on Bulls College Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
