Basketball Recap: Northwest Yeshiva Skates Past Pope John Paul II with Ease

Northwest Yeshiva waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Pope John Paul II Eagles 68-28. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 83-57 last Tuesday.

Northwest Yeshiva's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Evan Kaufthal led the charge by putting up eight points along with 13 boards and six steals. What's more, Kaufthal also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sol Levy, who posted 11 points and six assists.

Northwest Yeshiva was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now racked up at least 22 assists in three consecutive matchups.

Northwest Yeshiva's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Pope John Paul II, their defeat was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-12.

As of now, neither Northwest Yeshiva nor Pope John Paul II have any future games scheduled.
