Baseball Recap: Pocono Mountain East's Undefeated Season over After Five Games

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matches, Pocono Mountain East finally came back down to earth on Wednesday. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Freedom Patriots. The game marked the Cardinals' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Pocono Mountain East got a good showing from Rily Calemmo, who tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Calemmo has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Bobby Ehrmann made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Having lost for the first time this season, Pocono Mountain East fell to 4-1. As for Freedom, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1.

As for Freedom, they will challenge Easton Area at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Easton Area's pitching crew has only allowed 1.2 runs per game this season, so Freedom's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
