Softball Recap: South Hagerstown Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tuscarora, South Hagerstown was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Oakdale 3-2. The Rebels haven't had any issues with Oakdale recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Kailia Burke made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Burke was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Burke wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Raelee Fry, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

South Hagerstown's victory bumped their record up to 6-4.

Looking ahead, South Hagerstown will be taking part in a tournament against Hedgesville at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.2 runs per game on average), something the Rebels will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Oakdale, they will square off against North Hagerstown on Tuesday.
