Baseball Recap: Egg Harbor Township Triumphs

Egg Harbor Township posted their closest victory since April 4th on Friday. They skirted past the Vineland Fighting Clan 2-1. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Fighting Clan two weeks ago, they had to take a 4-3 loss.

Chip Clooney spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on seven hits. He is becoming a predictor of Egg Harbor Township's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is undefeated (and 9-10 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Egg Harbor Township's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Salsbery, who went 2-for-3 with one double.
