Softball Recap: Clayton Takes a Loss

If Clayton was riding high fresh off their 23-14 takedown of Pecos last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Yellowjackets came up short against the Santa Rosa Lions on Tuesday, falling 25-7. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Yellowjackets of the 18-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Clayton now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Santa Rosa, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Lions beat Clayton by a score of 19-3 later that day.
