Baseball Game Preview: Lansing Christian Pilgrims vs. Laingsburg Wolfpack

Lansing Christian is 0-3 against Laingsburg since April of 2016 but things could change on Monday. The Pilgrims will be playing at home against the Wolfpack at 4:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

While Lansing Christian didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Dansville last Thursday, sneaking past 3-2. That's two games straight that the Pilgrims have won by just one run.

Ethan Damesworth made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out ten over 6.1 innings pitched. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 5.4 strikeouts per game. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Damesworth wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Will Marl, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Meanwhile, Laingsburg beat Bath 6-1 on Thursday.

Laingsburg pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lansing Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
