Volleyball Recap: Hickory Ridge Starts Season with Win Against Mallard Creek

Hickory Ridge had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against the Mallard Creek Mavericks on Monday as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Ragin' Bulls have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Mavericks, too.

Hickory Ridge walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the third set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 26-24, 25-14.

Isabella Jackson paced Hickory Ridge's offense, picking up eight kills. Jackson got some help from Eliana Whittaker and her 15 assists. Whittaker was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Hickory Ridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Carson on the 13th. As for Mallard Creek, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Sun Valley on the 12th.
