Baseball Recap: Empire Takes a Loss

It was a Battle of the Birds when Empire duked it out with Thatcher on Wednesday. The Ravens fell 7-2 to the Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Ravens of the 4-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Empire saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Asher Bird, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Empire now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Thatcher, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-12.

Looking ahead, Empire is taking a road trip to challenge Desert Christian at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Ravens' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season. As for Thatcher, they will host Safford at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
