Volleyball Game Preview: Caliche Buffaloes vs. Wiggins Tigers + How To Watch

Caliche hasn't had much luck against Wiggins recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Buffaloes will take on the Tigers at 4:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, Caliche didn't have quite enough to beat Akron and fell 3-2.

Caliche took Akron into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking ten-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-22, 23-25, 22-25, 15-5.

Meanwhile, Wiggins got the win against Yuma on Friday by a conclusive 3-0.

Wiggins not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Yuma between 18 and 20 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-20, 25-18.

Caliche better keep an eye on Saria Hawkins. She was instrumental in Wiggins' win, getting 11 digs and four aces. That's the most aces Hawkins has posted since back in August.

Wiggins was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Yuma only served nine.

Caliche's loss dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Wiggins, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Caliche might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Wiggins in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Buffaloes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
