Baseball Game Preview: Newport Harbor Sailors vs. Marina Vikings

For the second straight game, Newport Harbor will face off against Marina. The Sailors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Vikings at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Newport Harbor has four straight wins, Marina has ten straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Newport Harbor gave up the first runs on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They skirted past Marina 4-3. That's two games straight that the Sailors have won by just one run.

Keaton Anderson looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Newport Harbor saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Guy, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Adam Martin was another, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Marina's defeat dropped their record down to 9-18. As for Newport Harbor, their victory bumped their record up to 21-6.
