Volleyball Recap: Riley Weatherred and Reese Wright Secure Win for Eagle Valley

Eagle Valley won the last time they faced Rifle and things went their way on Thursday too. The Devils came out on top against the Bears by a score of 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Devils.

Eagle Valley had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-8, 25-15, 25-17.

Leading Eagle Valley to victory were Reese Wright and Riley Weatherred. Wright had seven digs and two aces, while Weatherred had 20 kills, eight digs, two aces, and one block. Weatherred has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 24 times she's played.

They weren't the only good servers: Eagle Valley was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. They are 7-1 when they serve at least ten aces.

Eagle Valley's record is now 9-14. As for Rifle, they dropped their record down to 1-18 with the defeat, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Eagle Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rifle, they will challenge Glenwood Springs at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
