Baseball Preview: River Valley Vikings vs. North Union Wildcats

The River Valley Vikings will head out on the road to square off against the North Union Wildcats at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. River Valley is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.

Things were looking good for River Valley after they put the first points on the board on Wednesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 11-1 to Galion.

River Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hudson Pollock, who went 1-for-2 with an RBI.

Meanwhile, North Union got the win against Benjamin Logan on Wednesday by a conclusive 9-2.

Mason Bright spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tyler Krebehenne, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Caden Potts, who scored a run.

River Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for North Union, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7-1 record this season.
