Basketball Recap: St. Anthony's Snags 11th Victory in Last 12 Games

St. Anthony won the last time they faced Kellenberg Memorial and things went their way on Friday too. The St. Anthony's Friars managed a 61-57 victory over the Kellenberg Memorial Firebirds. Given the Friars' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while the Firebirds are ranked 207th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Anthony's to victory, but perhaps none more so than Connor Mannix, who went 7-for-10 on his way to 17 points. Mannix is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played. James Taylor Jr. was another key player, going 5-for-12 to rack up 15 points along with five boards and three blocks.

St. Anthony's is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season. As for Kellenberg Memorial, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Anthony's will take on Chaminade at 6:00 p.m. on February 21st. As for Kellenberg Memorial, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Holy Trinity at 6:00 p.m.
