Preview: Louisville Wildcats vs. Jackson Academy Raiders
The Louisville Wildcats and the Jackson Academy Raiders will round out the year against one another at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday at. Louisville is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, Louisville was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 53-48 to Noxubee County.
Meanwhile, after a string of 14 wins, Jackson Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 70-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pascagoula. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the defeat, Jackson Academy got a solid performance out of Mike Williams, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. Williams scored a full 40.7% of Jackson Academy's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Tyler Lyles was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Louisville now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Jackson Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 14-1.
