St. Francis falls despite big games from Dolly Smith and Riley Austin

Recap: St. Francis Spartans vs. Saint Ignatius College Prep Wolfpack
The St. Francis Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They fell just short of Saint Ignatius College Prep by a score of 53-51. St. Francis was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Saint Ignatius College Prep apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.
Riley Austin and Dolly Smith certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Austin scored 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Smith scored 16 points. It was the first time this season that Smith scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of T?a Rubino, who scored 11 points.
St. Francis' defeat dropped their record down to 15-15. As for Saint Ignatius College Prep, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-17.
St. Francis will be playing at home against Schurz at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Schurz will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 625th, while St. Francis is ranked 119th). Saint Ignatius College Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
