Basketball Recap: Urban Find Success

Urban won the last time they faced Washington and things went their way on Thursday too. The Urban Blues pulled ahead with a 55-54 photo finish over the Washington Eagles. Given the Blues' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 84th, while the Eagles are ranked 344th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Washington still got an impressive performance from Korey Abantao, who went 9 of 17 on his way to 22 points and seven assists. Abantao's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Oliver Das, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds.

Urban's record now sits at 6-2. As for Washington, they moved to 5-2 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Urban won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Casa Grande at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Washington, they and Del Campo will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played.
