Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Parrish Community walked away with it. They had just enough and edged out the Lakewood Ranch Mustangs 2-1 on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Bulls in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won six in a row.

Emmaline Van Beck spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits.

At the plate, Parrish Community's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Baylee Fields, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Parrish Community hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matches.

Parrish Community's victory bumped their record up to 23-3. As for Lakewood Ranch, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-12 record this season.

Parrish Community will be playing in front of their home fans against Plant at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Bulls surely won't give up without a fight. Lakewood Ranch does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
