Preview: Wishkah Valley Loggers vs. Clallam Bay Bruins
The Wishkah Valley Loggers will be home for the holidays to greet the Clallam Bay Bruins at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Wishkah Valley has struggled recently with seven defeats in a row, while Clallam Bay will arrive with four straight wins.
Last Thursday, Wishkah Valley had to suffer through a rough 76-14 loss at the hands of Crescent. Wishkah Valley has not had much luck with Crescent recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Even though Clallam Bay has not done well against Taholah recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Clallam Bay walked away with a 59-48 win over Taholah.
Wishkah Valley bumped their record down to 0-3 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 12.2 points per game. As for Clallam Bay, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.
Wishkah Valley was dealt a bruising 78-20 loss at the hands of Clallam Bay when the teams last played back in December of 2022. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Wishkah Valley was down 36-14.
