Softball Recap: Cambridge Gets the Win

Cambridge's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Buckeye Trail Warriors a 3-0 shutout. The win continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won five in a row.

The result came thanks to Laney Harper's shutout, as she gave up just five hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Cambridge's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Miranda Cole, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Chelsey Wells also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Cambridge's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Buckeye Trail, they dropped their record down to 2-6 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Cambridge beat the Warriors by a score of 13-0 later that day.
