Baseball Recap: Trinity Wolves vs. Modoc Braves

Trinity had lost four straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 1-10 to make it five. They lost 8-2 to the Modoc Braves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Braves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-1 on Friday.

Trinity saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kolten H, who went 1-for-3 with one triple.

As for Modoc, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-2. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.

On Modoc's side, Colin Jeffers was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). Jeffers was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Adin Benson was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

Coincidentally, Trinity and Modoc will both be playing Fall River the next time they take the field. The Braves will head out to face the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Wolves will head out to face them at 2:00 p.m. on the 25th.
